THE POWER OF RESILIENCE | An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Practice
This two-hour online seminar introduces genuine trauma-informed practice for those working in counselling and pastoral care, and is also well suited to people in community roles such as ministry, disability support, and peer work. Together, we will deepen and expand our understanding of what trauma is, how it lives in the body and nervous system, and how it can shape behaviour, relationships, and meaning-making moving forward. This seminar invites a shift toward practices that honour agency and capacity, supporting trauma to move through rather than become stuck, and offering practical, compassionate, and empowering frameworks that foster safety, resilience, and connection in helping relationships. |

RICHARD BLACK | Building a Healthy Pastoral Care System that Grows with Your Church
Designed for pastors and ministry leaders who want to strengthen care while protecting their team.
In this session you will learn: - how to build a simple, scalable pastoral care structure - how to equip leaders to care well without burning out - how to respond wisely to complex pastoral situations - how to create clarity around roles, boundaries, and escalation This session draws on the same frameworks used in working with churches to strengthen pastoral care systems in real ministry settings. If you want your church to care well for people without placing unsustainable pressure on leaders, this will be a helpful next step. |

EMMAUS | TERM 2 FOOTSTEPS COURSE
The God of the Patriarchs: Genesis 12-50
For believers, the story of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, is our family story. It's like flicking through the photo album and being reminded of who we are, warts and all. We see joys and sorrows, children and childlessness, romance and strife, faithfulness and favouritism, jealousy and reconciliation, hope and loss. But first of all, this story is about the God who calls this family his own! He calls himself the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob (Exo 3:6). He is the God who invites us to trust his promise, that through this family, he will bring about his saving plans for the whole world. |

OPEN HOME FOUNDATION
www.ohf.org.nz The Open Home Foundation – Te Whare Kaupapa Awhina is looking for capable caring people who identify with our special character and who would like to join our mission. We are an organisation whose work is a daily, practical expression of the Christian gospel. We work out of our Christian Kaupapa that draws on our common belief in Christ and a commitment to providing a service that integrates faith and professional skills. Our staff and foster parents believe that prayer engenders hope and changes things; we acknowledge the Christian God as the one with whom we partner in our work, and we demonstrate a standard of personal and professional behaviour that reflects what would be expected of Christians. If you have the capacity to provide quality child/tamaiti – centred, family/whānau – focused care in your home then we would love to hear from you! Financial Freedom Trust - Support for local Church Communities
Our services are delivered through face‑to‑face appointments, phone consultations, group sessions, and online learning. Our staff and volunteers are sector‑trained and experienced financial mentors, who each belong to a local Palmerston North church. Financial Freedom Trust was founded by church elders seeking practical ways to support families experiencing financial hardship. We continue this charitable work today, motivated by Christian compassion and a belief that people are called to live with financial freedom, purpose, and dignity. |
