ISMNZ is committed to the welfare and pastoral care of international students who have come to Aotearoa New Zealand. We follow the Māori health model of Te Whare Tapa Whā, the four pillars in caring for the hauora (entire well-being and health) of individuals: Taha tinana (physical health), Taha wairua (spiritual health), Taha whānau (family health), and Taha hinengaro (mental health).
Most of the international students we care for come to New Zealand to complete their tertiary education, in Private Tertiary Institutes, Polytechs or Universities. For many of them, New Zealand is the first foreign country that they have step foot in. They leave their family and friends on their own, without knowing anyone in New Zealand, oftentimes without having a full picture of the country.
Our ISMNZ staff workers and volunteers come from diverse nationalities and cultures, and provide that home away from home for students during this critical period of their lives. This crucial as most come from cultures with a strong emphasis on family and community life.

A popular hanging out space on campus, the Centre is available 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday for you to chill out in. It offers a cafe-style environment in the foyer, a study area and a more relaxed vibe in the lounge. At any time you are free to go into the kitchen and make yourself a hot drink. The Centre is part of Massey WiFi network. It is also the venue for free 'pancake nites' and other events as publicised. It's a home away from home.

At the heart of Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) are student-led, campus-based groups. University years are filled with both possibilities and pitfalls. We want students to make wise decisions when they get their first taste of freedom, but we exist for far more than that. This brief season holds opportunities to learn, serve and prepare for life in ways that will never be repeated. Students can reach their fellow students for Christ like no one else, familiar as they are with the issues, trends and language of their peers. And, like all of us, students do this best working together. Their witnessing communities are winsome and powerful platforms for ambassadors of the gospel. Student leaders work in close partnership with TSCF staff and ministry interns. They are there to help every student relate the gospel to culture, apply the Bible to life, and extend everything they learn to the workplace.
